Adolfe P. "Buster" Czarnionka

Mr. Adolfe P. "Buster" Czarnionka, a longtime resident of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, at the age of 90.

He was born on September 3, 1922 in Pepperell, one of six children of the late Simon and Olga Czarnionka.Raised and educated in Pepperell, Adolfe who was lovingly known by all as "Buster" excelled in high school sports.He was a star baseball player and participated in a walk-on tryout with the Boston Red Sox.He attended Becker College in Worcester before working for Warwick Bus Lines for several years.On June 1st 1946, he married Ruth Waltz and they lived in Stoneham before settling in Wakefield in 1959 to raise their a family.

Mr. Czarnionka worked for Solutek Corporation in Boston for over 40 years.As a foreman, Buster provided supplies for x-ray machines to various hospitals in the Boston area.

Buster looked forward to apple picking every fall in New Hampshire and Maine.He and Ruth also enjoyed going to the horse races at Suffolk Downs and Saratoga Springs, NY.A lifelong animal lover, Buster loved dogs and cats, especially his 2 year old Yorkshire Terrier "Roxie." He even adopted a stray cat that he took in for many years.He enjoyed renting a cottage on Newfoundland Lake in New Hampshire and going on day trips across New England.

More recently, Buster enjoyed his coin collection, watching Boston sports, and spending time with his family.He always cherished being around his children and grandchildren at family holidays, cookouts, and birthday parties.

He will be forever remembered as the beloved husband of the late Ruth B. (Waltz) Czarnionka with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.Devoted father of Janet L. Fanjoy and her husband Howard of Wakefield, and Paul A. Czarnionka and his wife Susan of York, ME.Stepfather of Judith Dolaher of Harwich Port.Dear brother of Mary Wheeler of Pepperell, and the late Catherine, John "Figgy", Simon "Jumbo", and Joseph "Joker" Czarnionka. Loving grandfather of Mary Czarnionka of Milwaukee and PJ Czarnionka of York, ME.Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends will gather in honor and remembrance of Buster's life during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Friday, May 17 from 4-7 PM, and again on Saturday morning for his Funeral Service celebrated at 9 AM.Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
