Mr. Albert A. Fava, of Naples, Florida and formerly of Stoneham, MA and New York City, NY, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2010 at Avow Hospice in Naples, FL.He was 96 years old.Mr. Fava was born in Southbridge on January 5, 1914, a son of the late Vincent Fava and Anita (Orlando) Fava.
Albert graduated from Boston University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.He worked for ITT Grinnell Corporation as an engineer for 25 years, retiring as a Vice President of the company.At his position with ITT Grinnell he had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the world.He was a Stoneham resident from 1940 until 1953 until moving to New York City where he resided for 25 years.Albert was past-president of the Plant Engineers Club of Boston and the Engineering Societies of New England and a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Engineers Club of New York and Sales Executive Club of New York.He enjoyed spending the summer months in Groton Long Point, Connecticut and had retired in Florida.He lived in Oldsmar, FL for 12 years and had more recently moved to Naples to be closer to his family.
Mr. Fava was the devoted husband of the late June R. (Crease) Fava and the late Elva L. (Nourse) Fava.Dear brother of the late Anthony Fava, Helen Gerolamo, and Mary Allard.He is survived by his brother, Hugo Fava of Clearwater, FL, his nephew, Robert V. Gerolamo of Naples, Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Albert will be held at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, Melrose on Wednesday, March 24 at 10 AM.
