Mrs. Alice M. (Patten ) Graham, of Melrose, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, November 5, 2012 in her home at Putnam Farm at Danvers, at the age of 89.
Alice was born on February 11, 1923 in Boston, a daughter of the late Waite H. Patten and Fannie (Cann) Patten.She was raised and educated in Malden and graduated from the New England School of Art.She worked as a bank secretary in Malden for many years, and as a realtor in Melrose for Mary Bell Real Estate.
Alice was an artistic woman who had an interest in painting, sketching, and cake decorating.She especially enjoyed attending art classes taught by local artists and exhibiting her own paintings in many art shows.She was also committed to her faith as a longtime member of the Centre Methodist Church in Malden where she taught Sunday School.She was a loving and devoted mother and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She was the beloved wife of the late Gordon F. Graham with whom she shared 54 years of marriage and the late Nick Runci.Devoted mother of Dr. Warren G. Graham and his wife Kelly Erwin of Amherst, Wayne F. Graham and his wife Lillian "Patty" of Topsfield, Nancy M. Graham and her husband David Carroll of Melrose, Roland P. "Rolly" Graham and his wife Ellen of Danvers, and the late Glenn W. "Legs" Graham and his dear and longtime companion Loretta Lussier of Saugus.Dear sister of the late Ernest F. Patten and Morton Hamilton.Cherished grandmother of Jessie Erwin-Glace, Lucas Graham, Edison Graham, Victoria Graham, Katy Wallace and her husband Matthew, Calvin Morse, Veronica Graham, Hayden Graham, and Madeline Graham.Loving great-grandmother of Beau Wallace.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Alice's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Friday, November 9 from 4-8 PM and for her Funeral Service at the First United Methodist Church, 645 Main St., Melrose celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
