Mr. Allan F Ray Sr., a 44 year resident of Wakefield, passed away peacefully at Golden Living Center-The Elmhurst in Melrose on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the age of 76.
Allan was born on June 14, 1936 in Melrose, son of the late Freeman F Ray and Helen (Miner) Ray. He was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School.He worked for many years as a boilermaker at the Charlestown Navy Shipyard and in Quincy.
Allan was a member and past master of Converse Lodge AF&AM in Malden, a member of Aleppo Temple Shrine in Wilmington and the Provost Guard. Allan enjoyed gardening and would always have time to enjoy a cigar.

Allan was the devoted father of Malden Police Officer Allan F. Ray Jr.and his wife Miguelina of Wakefield and Michael W. Hicks of Amesbury.Dear brother of the late Whitney T. Ray. Cherished grandfather of Malden Police Officer Jesus Montoya of Lynn, Jennie Jackson of NC,Allan F. Ray III of FL, Timothy Ray of Lynn, and Katrina Hicks and Mark Hicks both of Amesbury

Relatives and friends will honor and remember Allan's life by gathering during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Tuesday, April 23 from 4-8 PM, and again on Wednesday morning where his Funeral Service will be celebrated at 9 AM. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
