Alpheus "Al" Button, 92 of Malden died Friday evening, April 15, 2005 at the Glen Ridge Nursing Home in Medford. Al was born in Newfoundland, CN, July 31, 1912, son of the late William H. Button, Jr. and Elizabeth (George) Button. Mr. Button came to the United States from Newfoundland in 1925.He was a long-time member of the Salvation Army and was an avid fisherman. Al shared 72 years of marriage with his wife, Jessie I. (Blundell) Button and he was the father of Eleanor M. Griffin ofFairfield, CA, Robert S. Button of Dracut, Lorraine E. Kaminsky of Lynn, Denise J. Hachey of ME and the late William "Russell" Button. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE Monday, April 25 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours will be Sunday 2-5 PM. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, MA. Gifts in his memory may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
