Ann S. "Nancy" Robinson

Ann S. "Nancy" Robinson, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, at age 74.

If elegance were a person, Nancy was it. Filled with grace, she lived life beautifully.

Born in Schenectady, NY, Nancy spent her early childhood years in Pittsfield, MA with her loving parents and two beloved sisters before moving to Wellesley in high school. At Elizabeth Seton in Wellesley (1966-1968), her easy smile attracted some of her precious, lifelong best friends. After Seton, Nancy moved on to Newton College of the Sacred Heart before transitioning into Boston College as the first woman in its school of business (1968-1972).

At 24, she met her husband Jeffrey at Copperfield's in Boston and took the leap of faith to marriage just 9 months later. They lived a wonderful life together, remaining true, devoted partners and sharing immense love of their family, the Cape, and their Catholic faith that gave them peace in their final days on Earth together.

Nancy and Jeff raised their family in Melrose, where they were members of Bellevue Golf Club for more than 40 years. There, they formed the close friendships that kept them "yuking it up" through every phase of their adult lives.

Nancy held a vast love of beauty that ran through every element of her life. She spent her childhood summers in Chatham and married years in Harwich Port, where she instilled in her children and grandchildren a love for the salt air, the sound of the waves, sunsets, fires in the fireplace, warm summer dinners outside, the moon reflecting on the water, boat-days, and all the stars and activity of the night sky. She chose to see the best in people, a quality that helped her build deeply special relationships, and she spent her life working to ensure everyone around her was happy. She created beautiful spaces for her family and friends, filling her home with comfort and candlelight that made you want to stay forever.

She loved to ski, cheer on the Sox, tailgate at BC football games, picnic at James Taylor's Tanglewood concerts, and spend blue sky days out on the water. Most of all, she loved to be with her family, especially her seven grandchildren. Their favorite "Goatie," she shared inside jokes, tons of giggles, and generous sprays of whipped cream right in the mouth.

Nancy was trusted by her family and friends to solve difficult problems and provide the most thoughtful, sound advice. Smart, funny, selfless, consciously optimistic, and endlessly encouraging, her uplifting support surrounded those around her in warmth. She will be profoundly missed by all those who loved her, and we will keep her in our hearts every day of our lives.

Nancy was the beloved wife and best friend of Jeffrey D. Robinson with whom she shared nearly 50 years of marriage. Devoted mother of J. Scott Robinson and his wife Krista of Midlothian, TX, Margaret M. Nagle and her husband Matthew of Brooklyn, NY, and Mark S. Robinson and his wife Caitlin of Melrose. Loving sister of Patricia Callahan and her husband John of Cotuit, and the late Kitsy Neubeck and her surviving husband Steve of SC. Cherished grandmother of Aiden, Brenden, Rosemary, Cecilia, Elizabeth, Lily, and Will. Also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, and several dear and longtime friends who meant so much to her. She was predeceased by her niece, Ann Neubeck.

Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in Nancy's memory during Visiting Hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St, Melrose on Tuesday, April 22 from 3-7pm, and again on Wednesday, April 23 at 9am before leaving in procession to Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield for her Funeral Mass celebrated at 10am.
