Anna Lesiak age 79 and a resident of Melrose for 19 years died Saturday March 19, 2005 at the New England Medical Center in Boston after a lengthy illness. Anna was born in Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine October 25, 1925, daughter of the late Anton and Katherine.Anna was raised and educated in Ukraine and during WWII she was held as a prisoner in Germany. After WWII she emigrated to Brazil and then came to Massachusetts in 1962 and settled in S. Boston. For 25 years Anna was a Housekeeper at New England Medical Center in Boston. Anna shared nearly 60 years of marriage with her husband, Jan Lesiak, and was the loving mother of Sonia Maraqa, Tereza Lesiak both of Wakefield, Lucia Mackie and Vera Lesiak-Frongillo and her husband John Frongillo Jr. all of Melrose and the late son Frederic Lesiak. Anna was the sister of Sofia Seleznev ofMoscow, Russia and the cherishedgrandmother of Jura Bazzinotti, Tomas Gavelis, Fayzeh Maraqa, Katie Maraqa, Audra Wright, Mark White, Michael White, Anna Mackie, Christina Mackie and Patrick O'Connor.Great grandmother ofBrenna, Veronika and Ever.
