Anthony J. “Tony” Petrosillo, 69, of Stoneham, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

Tony was born on March 16, 1953 in Monopoli,Italy, one of eight children of the late Girolamo and Maria Rosa (Brescia) Petrosillo. He moved to the United States when he was five and grew up in Somerville. He graduated from Somerville High School and attended Eastcoast Aero Tech. Tony worked as an Aircraft Mechanic for over 40 years, starting with US Air, which became a part of American Airlines, and was currently still employed as a Chief Aircraft Mechanic.

He developed many lifelong friends through his work, and his friendship and expertise will be missed.

Loveable and happy, Tony loved his family and friends. He and his fiance Heidi were inseparable. They enjoyed traveling together, taking their dog Bailey and even their cat Annie for walks.  He also enjoyed gardening, entertaining, cooking for company, skiing, riding his Harley, and spending quality time with his long time friend Jerry Straccia making their signature “ Dos Guidos” homemade wine.

Tony’s big heart, love of family, sense of humor, and presence will be missed by all.

Tony was the beloved fiancé of Heidi Smith. Tony was previously married to Toni-Ann Capozi-Gorski and they have two children, Jeri-Lyn Petrosillo of Florida and Alex Petrosillo of Haverhill.  He also leaves behind his brothers John and his wife Angela Petrosillo of Medford, Domenico and his late wife Ida Petrosillo of Billerica, Carlo and his wife Ella Petrosillo of Billerica, and his sisters Maria and her late husband Rocco Taverna of Hull, Comelia and her husband Sergio Tortora of Miami, FL, Ada and her late husband Luca Pepe of Monopoli Italy.  Tony was predeceased by his brother Orazio and his late wife Luigia “Gina” Petrosillo. Tony is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as many close, longtime friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life Open House, in honor of Tony, at Spinelli’s, 10 Newbury Street, Route 1, Peabody, on Saturday, January 7 from 4-8pm.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in Tony’s memory may be made to Boston Children’s Hospital Trust, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, or the Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA. 02284-9168
