Anthony "Roger" Ruggeri

Anthony “Roger” Ruggeri, a longtime resident of Yarmouth, Maine, passed away peacefully at the Pine Point Center in Scarborough on August 30, 2023, at age 83.

Born in Waltham, Massachusetts on October 1, 1939, Roger was one of three children of the late Anthony and Marie (Alizzi) Ruggeri. Raised in Watertown, he graduated from Watertown High School and received an Associate's Degree in Advertising from Chamberlain Jr. College. He began his working career in newspaper advertising, became an operations analyst at Honeywell, and later worked for many years in office equipment sales at Wrightline. Most recently, he had worked as a dispatcher for AAA in Maine.

Roger had a keen intellect and independent, quirky spirit. He had a lifelong love for the automobile that was inspired in his childhood by attending auto races with his brother and father. For many years, he attended races at the New England Dragway in Epping, NH. He enjoyed his membership in a New England Classic Car Club, and also had a love for science and electronics.

A longtime resident of Maine, Roger developed a connection to the local area and had an appreciation for nature. He will be missed, but lovingly remembered by his family.

Roger was the dear brother of Elizabeth Ruggeri-Koret and her husband Robert of Melrose, and the late Gilbert Ruggeri. Caring uncle of Natasha Ruggeri-Koret of Watertown, Kimberly Ruggeri of Watertown, Deborah Ruggeri of Maine, and the late Michael Ruggeri.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather in honor of Roger’s life during Visiting Hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Tuesday, Sept. 5 from 5-7pm. To keep everyone safe, the family has respectfully requested that all are masked when attending the visitation.
