Arthur F. Cusolito, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away on Saturday evening, April 7, 2012 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, at the age of 77.
Arthur was born on June 16, 1934 in Brighton, one of three children of the late John Cusolito and Mary (Scolles) Cusolito.He was raised and educated in Somerville and served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War.Arthur worked for 34 years as a letter carrier for the Waltham Post Office.He then worked for Century Bank as a courier.
Arthur started every morning looking to see what mischief he could find.He enjoyed his coffee shop political action committees, and travelling.He loved cross-country trips, and travelling extensively by himself and with family to Brazil, Australia, Italy, and across Europe.Every year Arthur and his daughter, Julie, enjoyed decorating the front lawn of the house with Christmas lights and figures for the holidays.With his coworkers and friends from the Post Office, he loved their annual trip up to New Hampshire for Super Bowl weekend.He loved his 1964 Ford Mustang that he carefully maintained to drive regularly. Arthur was a great father and loyal friend who always put others first.
Arthur was the beloved husband of the late Anne (Moore) Cusolito.Devoted father of James F. Cusolito of Melrose, Philip J. Cusolito of Atlanta, GA, Karen M. Cusolito of San Francisco, CA, Julie S. Cusolito of Rockland, and the late Anne "Pokey" Cusolito and her longtime companion, Rick DeAmelio of Plympton.Loving brother of John M. Cusolito and his wife Martha of Beverly, and Josephine Hilty and her husband George of W. Peabody.Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Arthur's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Wednesday from 4-8 PM and again on Thursday at 9:00 AM before leaving in procession to the Church of the Incarnation, 429 Upham St., Melrose where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM.Interment with US Army military honors in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
