Arthur T. Wolfe

Arthur T. Wolfe, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, March 27, 2017, at age 85.

Arthur was born at home in Everett on March 4, 1932, one of seven children of the late Earl F. and Jennie M. (Vaughan) Wolfe. He was raised in Everett, graduated from Everett High School and proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. While working at Spencer's Gas Station, he met his future wife of 52 years, Marilyn L. Boudreau. They were married in September of 1957 at Immaculate Conception Church in Everett, lived in Medford for several years, and settled in Melrose to raise a family of 5 children. Arthur worked for the City of Medford as a general foreman for over 30 years.

Arthur was a sociable man who would offer a kind word, a smile, or a joke to anyone he met. With a kind heart, Art was nice to everyone, and could make friends with anyone. He enjoyed taking an active role around the neighborhood, looking out for his friends and neighbors. He also had strong connections at work, and enjoyed a special friendship with longtime coworker Lenny. He made an impact on people wherever he was, whether at home, around the neighborhood, or while at work.

A proud family man, Arthur enjoyed all holidays, special occasions, and looked forward to the annual turkey cook off at Thanksgiving with his son, Stephen. He and Marilyn enjoyed a life together, taking scenic drives around New England, or spending time with family. He loved the Red Sox, Patriots, and most of all was a passionate Bruins fan. A good natured man, Art passed his love of laughter along to his children. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Art was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn L. (Boudreau) Wolfe with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Devoted father of Donna J. Gadway and her husband Roderick of Rochester, NH, Lois M. Wolfe of Melrose, Stephen A. Wolfe of Haverhill, and Scott J. Wolfe and his wife Frannie of Randolph.
