Mrs. Verenis was born in Lewiston, ME on November 18, 1926, daughter of the late George Kourakos and Stella (Patsourakos) Kourakos.
Mrs. Verenis grew up in Lewiston and Portland, ME.She was an Administrative Assistant for the American Oil Company, Portland, ME andalso worked for the Raytheon Company in Wayland, MA and for Harvard University.
Athena is survived by her brother, William Kourakos and his wife, Sophie of Cape Elizabeth, ME.Aunt of Joanna Krasinski of Weston, MA,William Kourakos, Jr. of NYC, NY and Stephanie Flanagan of Farmington, ME.Also survived by several grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are private.
