Barbara (Woodward) Christie
Barbara was born on August 12, 1923 in York, Maine, one of three children of the late Frederick A. Woodward and Alice L. (Littlefield) Woodward.She was a resident of both Reading and Wakefield for many years.She worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Wakefield for 30 years.Barbara was also member of the Greenwood Union Church where she was a member of the SHH Wheel.
Mrs. Christie was the beloved wife of the late Howard K. Christie with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.Loving mother of Susan C. Monson of Leesburg, FL and Wendy A. Murley of Rockland.Dear sister of Joan Boyd of Reading and Charles Woodward of Lady Lake, FL.Cherished grandmother of Christie MacDonald, Thomas Monson, Mark Rosalbo and the late Scott Rosalbo.Also survived by 8 loving great grandchildren.
Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Thursday, September 16 at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-7 PM.Interment in Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.Gifts in Barbara's memory may be made to VistaCare Hospice, 2 Willow St., Ste. 102, Southborough, MA 01745.
