Mrs. Barbara M. (Goyette) Dooling of Melrose, formerly of Dedham died September 18, 2003 at the Life Care Center of Stoneham after a long battle with cancer. Barbara was born in Norwood, MA April 22, 1961 and grew up in Dedham, MA. Barbara graduated from Dedham High School in 1979. She was a star athlete for Dedham High School Track. She and her husband, Thomas, have lived in Melrose for the past six years and were former residents of Medford.Barbara for 7 years was an office manager for Dr. Gillies in Dedham. Barbara was a communicant at St. Mary's Church, Melrose and the author of 'IMPOSSIBLE CHOICES" and she also wrote several articles that appeared in the MELROSE FREE PRESS.Barbara was a group leader of a cancer support group at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital and she has been very active with Relay for Life.
Barbara was the loving wife of Thomas J. Dooling.Mother of Kara E. Dooling of Melrose.Beloved daughter of Edward O. Goyette and Barbara M. (DeFelice) Goyette of Dedham.Loving sister of Russell Goyette of Dedham, Kenneth Goyette of Newport, RI , Paul Goyette of Thornton, CO, Mary (Goyette) Mahoney and Geno Goyette bothof Dedham. Daughter in law of Alice M. (Hardin) Dooling and Thomas J. Dooling of Arlington.Barbara is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral from the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE, Monday Sept. 22 at 10 AM.Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, (corner of Myrtle & Herbert St.), Melrose at 11 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday only 2-6 PM.Gifts in her memory may be made to the trust for the benefit of Kara E. Dooling, c/o Melrose Cooperative Bank, 638 Main St., Melrose, MA 02176.
