Miss Barbara Goss, a life-long resident of Melrose, died at her home on Thursday afternoon, September 22, 2005
Miss Goss was born in Melrose, December 17, 1902, daughter of the late Willis C. Goss and Anna M. (Parker) Goss.
Miss Goss graduated from Melrose High School in 1920.She was a 1922 graduate of the Abbot Academy in Andover and the Boston School of Physical Education, class of 1924.She taught Physical Education at Melrose High School from 1925 - 1935 where she was also the Director of Girls Physical Education.From 1935- 1943, she was a teacher at the Masters School in Dobb's Ferry, NY and from 1945-1963 at the Winsor School in Boston.She was a member and Past President of Kappa.She was a National Umpire in Field Hockey and Basketball.She also taught Golf and Tennis at the New York University Camp for 13 years.She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Melrose for 81 years.
Aunt of Betty Jane Conant of Weston, Sally-Ann Clark of Harrison, ME and Sherman "Brud" Goss of Leesburg, FL.Also survived by several grand nieces, nephews and greatgreat grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral service at the First Congregational Church, 121 West Foster St., Melrose Monday September 26 at 12 Noon.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE, Sunday 3- 6 PM.

Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose, MA
