Basilio was born on June 14, 1940 in Guatemala, one of eight children of the late Luis Dealtan and Carmen (Alvisuri) Dealtan.
Raised and educated in Guatemala, Basilio immigrated to the United States in 1981.Soon after arriving, he met the love of his life, Dominica Ruisi, whom he married in 1982.Basilio worked at Dom's Sausage Co. in Malden and at the Hilltop Steakhouse as a meat cutter for many years.He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time playing family games.After residing in Somerville and Medford, he and Dominica moved to Melrose and were devout parishioners of St. Mary's Church.
He was the beloved husband of Dominica (Ruisi) Dealtan with whom he shared 29 years of marriage.Devoted brother of Eulalia Garcia and her husband Andrea of Guatemala, Sister Maria Dealtan of Guatemala, Virginia Dealtan of Guatemala, and the late Clement Dealtan, Delfino Dealtan, Carmine Dealtan and Milagro Dealtan.Loving brother-in-law of Salvatore Ruisi and his wife Franca of Palermo, Italy, Pietro Ruisi and his late wife Cristina of Medford, Guy Ruisi and his wife Anna of Stoneham, Fortunata Puccio and her late husband Pino of Medford, Mariarosa Puccio and her husband Giovanni of Medford, Francesco Ruisi and his wife Arlene of Watertown, and Eleonora Schena and her husband Gerry of Medford.Caring uncle of Guadeloupe Garcia of Everett.
Funeral from the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Thursday, August 11 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in honor and remembrance of Basilio's life at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 10 AM.Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8 PM.Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
