Ms. Beatrice O. "Bea" Longo, a lifelong Melrose resident, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at the age of 82.
Beatrice was born on February 24, 1930 in Melrose, a daughter of the late Rose (Camelia) and Joseph Longo.Raised in Melrose, she graduated from Melrose High School.Beatrice or "Bea" as her family lovingly knew her, worked for the Stanley Kaplan Accounting firm for 42 years. A woman of faith, Bea was parishioner at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield.She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, and loved spending time with her family.
Bea was the beloved sister of Genevieve DiCarlo and her late husband Alfred of Lynnfield, Anne DiCarlo and her late husband Victor of Melrose, Isabelle Adinolfi and her husband Thomas of Melrose, the late Anthony Longo and his late wife Helen, and the late Margaret Tierney and her late husband Ralph.Loving aunt of Alfred DiCarlo, Vivian Diamond, Joseph DiCarlo, Richard DiCarlo, Nancy Lessard, Peter DiCarlo, Paul DiCarlo, Donald DiCarlo, Rose Puffer, Joseph Longo, Kathleen Giuliucci, and Patricia Pavlik.Also survived by many loving grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Bea's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Sunday, February 3 from 2-6 PM, and again on Monday morning at 9:00 AM before leaving in procession to Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
