Mrs. Betty J. (Seeliger) Marshall, a resident of Melrose and formerly of Cambridge, passed away suddenly on November 11, 2009 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. She was 86 years old.
Mrs. Marshall was born on August 20, 1923 in Brookville, daughter of the late Robert P. Seeliger and Edith (Stewart) Seeliger.
Betty was raised and educated in Brookville (Holbrook). She was a great supporter of the troops during WWII and was an assembler at Polaroid in Cambridge for 10 years. She was a great artist, loved to sew, knit and play bingo at the Steele House in Melrose.
Betty was the former wife of the late Earl C. Marshall. Devoted mother of Jane E. Bryant and her late husband Jeru of Melrose, Paula Churn and her husband John of Framingham and the late Sharon Wells.Dear sister of Jean Bates of Quincy and the late Arlene Nute and Phil Apt.Dearest friend of John Gilgunn of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Leroy Walcott of Waltham, Janina Wentzell and her husband Jerry of Melrose, John Churn Jr. of Milford, Tara Churn of Framingham, Roman Churn of Milford, Michael Davis of OH, Tammy Sherman and her husband Rick and David Wells and his wife Eileen all of Plymouth. Also survived by 23 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, Melrose Tuesday November 17 at 9 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours will be on Monday 4-8 PM.Interment will be in Wendell Cemetery, Brookville, MA
