Mr. Bryan J. Connolly, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Wilmington Health Care Center at the age of 76.
He was born on January 5, 1937 in Lynn, a son of the late Margaret T. and Stephen Connolly.Raised in Lynn, Bryan graduated from St. Mary's High School and served his country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper.After his honorable discharge, he met his future wife Margaret "Peggy" Connolly while they were working at Stop & Shop in Wakefield.They settled in Malden, and raised a family of four beloved children.Mr. Connolly was a sports fan, avid reader, and loved music and singing.He was very proud of his Irish heritage and cherished his family.
Mr. Connolly was the beloved husband of the late Margaret A. "Peggy" (Waterman) Connolly with whom he shared 38 years of marriage. Devoted father of Shawn B. Connolly and his wife Rosemarie of Peabody, Patrick E. Connolly of Wakefield, Kerri L. Connolly of Malden, and the late Vernon J. Connolly.Dear brother of the late Stephen, Patrick, Mary DePres, Michael "Mickey," Edna Beaver, and Frank. Cherished grandfather of Kayla and Nicholas Connolly of Peabody.Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will gather in honor and remembrance of Bryan's life during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Monday, January 14 from 4-8 PM, and again on Tuesday morning at 8:00 AM before leaving in procession St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem St., Malden, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM.Interment with military honors presented by the US Army in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
