Carl A. Blanchard
Mr. Blanchard was born June 16, 1916 in Melrose, son of Mr. Carl A. Blanchard and Annie H. (Dyer) Blanchard.
Carl was a graduate of Melrose High School and received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University in 1938.He received his Masters degree from the Sloan Fellowship Program at MIT in 1951.He worked at H.P. Hood & Sons Company from 1938 - 1978, retiring as Senior Vice President.Carl served in the United States Navy during WWII.He was an avid golfer and bridge player.
Carl was the husband of 65 years to Ruth (MacCallum) Blanchard. Father of Judy Reichel and her husband Lynn of Marshfield, Jan Cavanaugh and her husband Tom of Little River, SC and Cindy Russell and her husband Jon of Chappaqua, NY. Grandfather of Kristen Moriarty, Keather Reichel and Kelley Reichel all of Plymouth, Kimberly Russell of Ossining, NY and David Russell of Chappaqua, NY. Great-grandfather of Ryan,Patrick and Brendon Moriarty. Brother-in-law of Margaret Nutt of NJ,John Beckwith of CT. and cousin of Merrill Bleyle of Winchester.
