Mr. Carl A. Lundgren, a resident of South Dennis, died suddenly at home on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at age 65.
Carl was born in Boston on September 15, 1947, son of the late Carl A. Lundgren and Lola (Murch) Lundgren.
Carl was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1965.He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1969.After his honorable discharge, Carl worked as a commercial photographer at Wakefield Color Lab and Northeast Color Research. He also owned his own business, Melrose Photographic Service.A lifelong and avid photographer, Carl was a member, officer, and exhibitor at the Cambridge Photo Co-op. His photography was shown at various sites in the local area including the North Suburban Art Exhibit where he received several awards.Carl also worked for several years as an air cargo courier at Logan Airport for Federal Express and DHL.
Beginning in his youth as a lifeguard, Carl had a special place in his heart for Cape Cod.In 2005, he fulfilled his dream and moved to Cape Cod where he enjoyed cooking, hosting friends, and collecting shells on West Dennis Beach.He loved playing golf especially at Harwich Port Golf Course where he also worked mowing the greens.Carl leaves behind many good friends who were very close to his heart. He will be truly missed.
Carl is survived by a cousin, Heidi Eramo and her husband Glenn of Stoneham.
