Mrs. Carla M. (Goyette) Hegan, of Saugus, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Meadow View Center in North Reading, at age 58.
She was born in Melrose on November 24, 1956, one of six children of the late Lawrence F. Goyette, Sr. and Dorothy Grace (Camuso) Goyette. Raised in Saugus, Carla was a graduate of Saugus High School.She married the love of her life Alan Hegan and they lived in Revere for many years. Carla was a vibrant woman whose enthusiasm for life centered around being surrounded with her family.
Carla worked for Pitney Bowes in Waltham for 17 years before following her lifelong dream of becoming a cook. She put herself through culinary school and became a cook at a well known local restaurant for several years.She loved food, entertaining, and being able to create something for others to enjoy.
Carla was a loving, generous, and warm person. She loved the holidays, especially decorating for Christmas and spending the time with family exchanging gifts and enjoying their time together. With her selfless spirit, Christmas was the perfect holiday for Carla. She loved buying gifts for other people, and always did what made her most happy - being with her family.In addition to her family and her love for cooking, Carla enjoyed her life taking bike rides, walks, doing arts and crafts, and going to the beach. She was also known to entertain her family and friend with her love for Karaoke.
Carla will always be remembered for her love for family, and her zest for life. Whenever there was a party, Carla was there. She will be missed.
Carla was the beloved wife of the late Alan Hegan. Devoted daughter of the late Dorothy Grace (Camuso) Goyette and Lawrence F. Goyette, Sr. Cherished sister of Cynthia G. Goyette of Saugus, Lawrence F. Goyette, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Wakefield, Christopher F. Goyette and his wife Elsie of Billerica, Rhonda G. McMahon and her husband Joseph of Somerville, and the late Valerie A. Lundrigan and her husband Wayne of FL. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Relatives and friends will gather in honor of Carla's life at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose during visiting hours on Tuesday, Oct. 20 from 4-8pm, and again on Wednesday at 9am before leaving in procession to Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield for her Funeral Mass celebrated at 10am. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Honor Carla's memory with a contribution to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
