Mrs. Carole A. (Stephens) Puglia, a resident of Manchester and formerly of Saugus, passed away on Sunday April 1, 2012 at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem.She was 75 years of age.
Mrs. Puglia was born on February 3, 1937 in Everett, one of three children of the late Frederick and Lillian Stephens.
She was raised in Everett where she graduated with honors from Everett High School, Class of 1955.For many years, she worked as a Secretary for Barwood Manufacturing Corp. in Everett.In 1978, she and her late husband Dick, opened Manchester Hardware and Supply on Beach Street in Manchester-by-the-Sea.It became known as the place to go for hardware supplies as well as any advice for in-home construction projects.In her spare time, Carole loved ceramics, gardening, quilting, photography, crocheting, animals, and doing puzzles.
She was the beloved wife of the late RichardD. "Dick" Puglia with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.Devoted daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian Stephens.Loving sister of the late Dorothy Moore and Fred Stephens.Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends will gather in honor and remembrance of Carole's life at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Wednesday, April 4 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM followed by her Funeral Service which will be celebrated at 10:00 AM.Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Everett.
