Mrs. Charlotte (Tura) Cahill, of Brooksby Village in Peabody, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Lahey Medical Center in Peabody, at age 94.
Mrs. Cahill was born in Saugus, the oldest of eight children of the late Charles and Mildred (Curtis) Tura.She graduated from the Boston City Hospital Nursing School in 1941 and earned a BS in Nursing from St. Xavier College inChicago in 1967.Mrs, Cahill lived in the Chicago area, Michigan and Florida before returning to the the North Shore. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Boston City Hospital, and at many volunteer positions over the years.
Charlotte was the beloved wife of the late Dr. George B. Cahill. Devoted mother of Elizabeth C. Qunell of Columbia, SC, Dr. Charles W. Cahill of Suffield, CT, Thomas G. Cahill of Lawrenceville, GA, and the late Rosemary E. Cahill of Buffalo Grove, IL. Dear sister of Mildred E. Salsman of Saugus, and the late George Tura,Emma Penachio, A. Peter Tura, Charles F. Tura, Joseph Tura, and Leonard A. Tura. Treasured aunt of Amy Alther of Stoneham. Cherished grandmother of Colleen, Steven, Amy, and Molly. Loving great-grandmother of Ada, Emi, Mya, Noa, and Henry.
Relatives and friends will gather in honor of Charlotte's life on Sunday, May 3 at 2:30 at the Brooksby Village Chapel. She will be interred with her late husband and daughter at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park in Largo, Florida.
