Mrs. Connie L. (Carey) Tanner, a longtime resident of Melrose, died unexpectedly on Monday afternoon, June 16, 2008 at Mass General Hospital in Boston.She was 64 years old.
She was born in Malden, February 24, 1944, daughter of the late Leslie Carey and Florence (Stahle) Carey.
Connie was raised in Everett and graduated from Malden High School.For many years, Connie was involved in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, serving as an Assistant District Commissioner of the Minuteman Council.
A homemaker for much of her life, Connie loved to knit and was known for her Irish sweaters.She loved country music and enjoyed life with her family, friends and pets.
Connie was the devoted mother of Ron W. Tanner of Melrose, Robert L. Tanner and his wife Judy of Wakefield, Paul M. Tanner of Warren, OH, William A. Tanner, Jr. and his wife Wendy of Townsend, DE, and Christine A. Gale of Melrose.Cherished grandmother of Lisa D. Rogalin and her husband Henry and Angela L. Tanner all of Wakefield and Benjamin Marker of Smryna, DE, and Bryan Tanner of Townsend, DE.
