Mrs. Corrine (Travers) Weber, a resident of Melrose, and formerly of Watertown, passed away peacefully in Stoneham on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at age 88.
Corrine was born on May 4, 1925 in Cambridge, one of three children of the late Harry and Emily (Menez) Travers.She was raised and educated in East Cambridge where she met her husband John.They married on June 6, 1948 at Sacred Heart Church in Cambridge and moved to Watertown in 1952 to raise a family.Corrine stayed at home to raise three daughters, and they enjoyed being a part of the Watertown community.
Corrine led a simple life that was centered on her family, and her faith.She cherished her husband, children, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.Along with her love of family, Corrine was a devoted parishioner of St. Luke's Church in Belmont for many years until moving to Melrose.They lived in Waltham for several years, but always returned to Watertown in their daily lives.
Her other interest in life was baking. Corrine loved making cookies, breads, cakes, and her specialty was Portuguese Masa bread.In her spare time, she also enjoyed crocheting.
Corrine will be lovingly remembered as the beloved wife of John S. Weber with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Corinne Harutunian and her husband Arthur of Melrose, Patricia O'Brien and her husband John of Reston, VA, and Allison Shuren and her husband Jeff of Chevy Chase, MD.Dear sister of the late Gloria Galinis and her late husband Anthony, and the late Jesse Travers.Cherished grandmother of Julie LaCasse and her husband Jim of Melrose, Steven Harutunian of Chicago, and Matthew Harutunian of Melrose, Courtney Cook and her husband Greg of Woodbridge, VA, Michael O'Brien of Weymouth, and Christopher O'Brien of Reston, VA.Also survived by a loving niece and nephew.
Relatives and friends will gather in honor and remembrance of Corrine's life for her Funeral Mass at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield celebrated on Saturday, January 4 at 10:00 AM.Interment will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery.
