David A. Barker

David A. Barker, a lifelong resident of Saugus, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at age 41.

David was born in Melrose on September 24, 1976, and raised in Saugus. As a boy, David loved to play football and played Saugus Pop Warner for a number of years. A gifted athlete, he also played baseball for many years. After graduating from Saugus High School, David played on a semi-professional football team for a short time. Good with his hands, David enjoyed his working career as a carpenter. He also worked for a tree removal company which he thoroughly enjoyed.

David was a reserved guy with a heart of gold. He served as an altar boy at Most Blessed Sacrament as a young man, loved his mother's home cooking, and his sister's pet Shih Tzu, Charlie. He also loved spending time with his cousins and their children. He enjoyed old fashioned hard work like plowing, yard work, or tree removal. David worked for many years remodeling his home which he shared with his mom. He was really proud of his remodeling and he loved his home. David also loved to ride motorcycles and dirt bikes and took a lot of pride in all the trucks he owned. David was a quiet guy, but his loss is felt greatly and his memory will be forever cherished.

David was the caring and treasured son of Dorothy E. (Andreotti) "Dottie" Barker and the late Ronald D. "Ron" Barker. Beloved brother of Michael J. Barker of Danvers and Danielle N. Barker of Wenham. Loving nephew of Heather Martin of Winthrop, Joe "Buddy" Andreotti and his wife Charlotte of Peabody, and Richard "Ricky" Andreotti and his wife Mary of Saugus. Also survived by many loving cousins.

Services are private. Gifts in David's memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 25 Shawmut Rd., Canton, MA 02021.
