David Lam

David Lam, of Malden, former long-time resident of Cambridge, passed away on October 17, 2023, at the age of 79. He was born on February 14, 1944, in Cambridge to the late Fook Doon Lam and Chin Lun (Leeshe) Lam.

Growing up in Cambridge, Dave attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School, graduating in 1962. During his high school years, he developed a deep passion for cars and motorcycles, a love that would stay with him throughout his life.

While in high school, Dave began a career as a dedicated photo engraver. He spent 33 years at Wright Pilgrim Bros. Printing Company, where he made a lasting impact with his skill and dedication.

Dave’s adventurous spirit led him to travel all around the country. He particularly cherished his trips to Sturgis and Laconia, where he could indulge in his love for motorcycles and connect with fellow enthusiasts. As an avid New England Patriots fan, he reveled in the excitement of each game, passionately cheering for his favorite team.

Music was an integral part of Dave's life, and he found solace and joy in the rhythms of rock music, the power of music never failed to uplift his spirit.

Later in life, Dave found himself thriving in assisted living, where he developed meaningful friendships and delighted in people-watching while soaking up the sun.

Dave was the loving brother of Rose Wong and her late husband David of Hingham, Joseph F. Lam and his late wife Doreen of Malden, Thomas “Richie” Lam and his wife Tomoko of Hawaii, and the late Mary Goon and her late husband Jong. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. He loved to spend time with his niece Jodie, her son Cole and nephew Chris.

Relatives and friends will gather in honor of Dave’s life for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Monday, Oct. 23 from 9-11am, and for his Funeral Service celebrated at 11am.  Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
