Delma G. Harrington
Delma was born in Melrose on March 4, 1922, one of three children of the late Gerald E. Harrington and Nilda (Lantz) Harrington. Delma worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. for 45 years as Assistant Manager. After her retirement in 1987, she enjoyed more time reading, knitting, doing crossword puzzles, and gardening. An avid bowler, she loved bowling weekly and served as team manager in her bowling league. Delma was also a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Melrose.
Delma was the loving sister of the late Raymond E. Harrington and Barbara E. Schofield. Caring aunt of Todd Harrington and his wife Tammy of Derry, NH, Glen Harrington of FL, Gary Harrington of FL, Susan Bookach and her husband Gregory of Brewster, and Barry Schofield and his wife Deidre of W. Brewster. Caring great aunt of Samantha, Brian, Kara, Ryan, Joshua, Heather, and Aubrey.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a Graveside Service in Delma's honor at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan St., Melrose on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 10am.Gifts in Delma's honor may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 645 Main St., Melrose MA 02176.
