Mrs. Dolores A. (Rossi) Lowery, a lifelong resident of Melrose, passed away Wednesday morning, March 11, 2009 at Oosterman's Rest Home in Melrose following a period of declining health.She was 75 years old.
Dolores was born on October 20, 1933 in the North End of Boston, one of four children of the late John P. Rossi and Anna (Nazzaro) Rossi.
Mrs. Lowery was raised in Boston and graduated from the Girls High School, Boston in 1951.She worked for New England Telephone Co. for twenty years as an Information Technology Operator, retiring at age 62.She was a member of the New England Telephone Pioneers Club and active with the Retirees Organization at New England Telephone.Dolores enjoyed cooking, shopping, eating and being social with her dear friends and loving family.She was a long time parishioner at Most Blessed Sacrament Church.
Dolores was the beloved wife of the late Warren D. Lowery and Angelo M. Onessimo.Loving and devoted mother of James A. Onessimo of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, John R. Onessimo of Melrose, Ann Marie Petrucci and her husband Donald of Brighton and Angelo G. Onessimo of Melrose.Dear sister of John "Jack" Rossi and his wife "Betty" of Melrose, and the late George Rossi and Edward Rossi.Cherished grandmother of Gabriella S. Onessimo of Melrose.Sister in law of Joyce Rossi of Boston.Also survived by many brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
