Donald P. "Donnie" Enman
He was born on November 7, 1942, one of ten children of the late Charles E. and Dorothy A. (Willey) Enman.Born in Morristown, New Jersey, his family moved to Jefferson, New Hampshire where they purchased a 300 acre dairy farm, "Millbrook Acres."Growing up on the farm, Don began working at a young age, and soon after leaving high school took over from his father.With 85 head of cattle, he operated the farm for many years producing milk for the Berlin Dairy.Don loved working outdoors (not the cattle) and cherished his favorite dog, a red and white border collie, "Laddie."
At age 16, he was the youngest engineer for the Cog Railway in NH and was the test driver for the first train after the derailment.
In his spare time, Don loved watching the Boston Celtics, and caring for his beloved Koi Fish Pond.Later in his life, Don built a 4,000 gallon Koi Pond in his backyard that became his pride and joy.At one time, the pond held over 20 fish, many over 2 ft. long.
Donnie was the beloved husband of Phyllis L. (Hubbard) Enman and the late Patricia A. (Deblois) Enman.Loving father of Debbie A. Irish and her husband Gene of Veazie, ME, Donald P. Enman, Jr. and his fiancé Doris Pinard of Littleton, NH, and Darren P. Enman of Littleton, NH.Dear brother of Ruth Walker, Lainie Kenison, Marietta Ingerson, Barbara Connell, and the late Eleanor Cloyd, Charles Enman, Sr., Lawrence Enman, Bruce Enman, and Bob Enman.Grandfather of Cameron, Tonya, Jazmyne, Derek, Matthew, and Alyssa.His is also survived by 1 great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Don's life by gathering during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Sunday, April 21 from 2-6 PM, and again on Monday morning for his Funeral Service celebrated at 10 AM.
