Mrs. Doreen W. (Vaughan) Larsen of Melrose formerly of Malden died Tuesday July 20, 2004 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital after a brief illness. She was born and educated in Grosmont, South Wales, daughter of the late William and Winifred (Simmons) Vaughan. Mrs. Larsen was a resident of Melrose for the past 10 years and previously resided in Malden. Doreen worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many local nursing homes until her retirement. Doreen was the wife of Roy H. Larsen. Mother of Karen Lamson and her husband William of Wakefield and Kenneth R. and Vera Larsen of Melrose.Sister of Gwendolyn Gough and Beryl Harris both of England and the late Marjorie James, Jack, Fred, Leslie and William Vaughan. Grandmother of Melanie Larsen, and Christopher Larsen, both of Melrose and William Lamson II,and Eric Lamson both of Wakefield. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service at the Green Street Baptist Church, 179 Green St., Melrose Friday July 23, 2004 at 11 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St. MELROSE Thursday 6-8 PM.
Interment will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. Gifts in Doreen's memory may be made to the Green Street Baptist Church.
