Mrs. Doris B. "Dotty" (Hamilton) Lopez, a long-time resident of Melrose, died Sunday, May 6, 2007 in the Bear Hill Nursing Home in Stoneham following a period of declining health.
Mrs. Lopez was born March 28, 1918 in Everett, MA, daughter of the late Herbert A. Hamilton and Ruth (Stockbridge) Hamilton.She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Melrose and a member of its Optimist and Semicircle groups.She loved rug hooking as a hobby, as well as ceramics, and traveling by Volkswagen Camper all over the world.She was also a member of Melrose Arts & Crafts.
Mrs. Lopez was the beloved wife of the late Fred W. Lopez, Sr. Loving mother of Wayne C. Lopez, Sr.and his wife, Judith of Melrose, Sterling C. Lopez and his wife, Janet of Newton Junction, NH, Roberta P. Eno and her husband, Roy of Lady Lake, FL, Kenneth W. Hollis of Derry, NH and the late F. Walter Lopez, Jr.Grandmother of the late Tammy G. Lopez. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
