Mrs. Dorothy A. (Festa) Burridge, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at age 75.

Dorothy was born on June 27, 1938 in Malden.Raised in Revere, she graduated from Revere High School with the Class of 1956.On September 22, 1957 she married Donald F. Burridge and they raised a family of five children in Revere.She worked for 15 years at Shawmut Bank in Boston.

As a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Dorothy devoted her life to caring for her family.She loved to cook, and cherished spending time with her beloved grandchildren.A faithful and loving wife of nearly 50 years, she cared for her late husband Donald for many years.She will be lovingly remembered and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Donald F. Burridge Sr. with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Beloved daughter of Dorothy Lovati of Lincoln, NH and the late Cataldo Festa. Loving mother of Donald F. Burridge, Jr. and his fiancé Debra McLaughlin of Lynn, Carl V. Burridge of Tulsa, OK, Kenneth M. Burridge and his wife Mary Ann of Stoneham, Tracey A. Webber and her husband Daniel of Melrose and Kelley J. Bowers and her husband Steven of Melrose. Dear sister of Suzanne Giosa of Lincoln, NH, Rocco Festa of Lynn and Frederick Festa of Saugus. Cherished grandmother of Andrea, Amanda, Kristin, Craig, Melissa, Matthew, Julie, Michael, Carl, Shelby, Nicholas, Christina, Chelsea, William, Jake, Brittany, Brooke, and Matthew.Loving great-grandmother of Tyler, Shamus, Phoebe, Ethan, Natalie and the late Liam and Riley. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends will gather in honor and remembrance of Dorothy's life during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Wednesday, October 2 from 4-8 PM. Gifts in Dorothy's memory may be made to VNA of Middlesex East, 607 North Ave. Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
