Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" (D'Addario) Deane, a resident of Malden, passed away at home on Tuesday evening June 16, 2009 after a period of declining health.She was 78 years old.
Dorothy was born on September 22, 1930 in Everett, a daughter of the late Francis D'Addario and Nicoletta (Petri) D'Addario.
Dorothy or "Dot" as she was affectionately known was raised and educated in Everett.She graduated from the Beauty Academy in Malden and worked as longtime Hairdresser for Beauty Pavilion.She also worked for a period of time as a Sales Receptionist for Lotus Development Co. in Cambridge.Dot was regularly involved as a parishioner of St. Anthony's Church in Everett where she taught CCD and sang in the choir.
Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Samuel C. Deane, Jr. with whom she shared 31 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Mark A. Deane and his wife Dale of Woburn, Laurie M. Longo and her husband Peter of Malden and Samuel C. Deane III and his wife Teresa of Wakefield.Dear sister of Francis D'Addario of Chelmsford and the late Albert D'Addario.Dear sister-in-law of Nancy D'Addario of Wakefield.Cherished grandmother of Nicole, Andrew, Evan, Nicholas, Lauren, Julia, Hannah, and Samuel IV.Also survived by many nieces and nephews and her favorite pet, a little yorkie named Teddy.
Funeral from the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE, Tuesday, June 23, at 8:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in honor and remembrance of Dorothy's life at St. Anthony's Church, Oakes St., Everett at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM.Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.Gifts in Dorothy's memory may be made to Partners Hospice, 281 Winter St., Suite 200, Waltham 02451.
