Dorothy R. "Dotty" Grossman

Dorothy R. "Dotty" Grossman, a resident of Billerica, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 after a brief illness, at age 83.

Dorothy was born October 23,1938, in Cambridge, daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Kirshen) Grossman.

Lovingly known as "Dotty," she was the beloved sister of Michael Grossman and his wife Adrienne of San Diego, CA and the loving aunt to David of CA, Lauren of NY and Steven of PA.

Dotty graduated from Cambridge High and Latin, Class of 1956 and received a Nursing Degree from Northeastern University. She began her long and successful nursing career at Metropolitan State Hospital, and then worked with the American Red Cross for over 30 years. Dotty loved the Red Cross where she forged many lifelong personal and professional friendships that were dear to her heart.

Upon retiring, Dotty enjoyed volunteering at the Billerica Senior Center. She was well known for her overflowing generosity and her love of cats and animals. In her free time, Dotty was an incredible cook and took great pride in sharing her love of cooking and baking with her family for every occasion and holiday. With a great sense of humor, Dotty loved to laugh, play cards with family and friends and make other people happy.She will be dearly missed by all, including Mickey, her cat and her extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, on Saturday, May 7 from 10am-12pm.
