Mrs. Dorothy E. "Dot" (Ward) Laben of Melrose died Wednesday morning September 21, 2005 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare in Melrose. Mrs. Laben was born August 3, 1909 in Everett, MA, daughter of the late Henry G. Ward and Ardella (Carroll) Ward. Mrs. Laben was a graduate of St. Rose High School in Chelsea.She was a retired sales clerk at the W. T. Grant Company in Melrose for over 20 years. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Stanley J. Laben and the loving mother of Robert J. Laben and his wife, Joyce K. of Mt. Juliet, TN, and the late Ward S. Laben.Dot was the mother in law of Marylou Oatis of Melrose.Loving sister of Henry J. Ward of Stoneham, P. Arthur Ward of Cleveland, OH, Mabel Dunn of Crofton, MD and the late Ruth A. Oatis. Grandmother of Mark S. Laben of Wakefield,Lauren Belcher and her husband Daniel of N. Smithfield, RI, John H. Oatis III and his wife, Heather of Northbridge and Christopher Oatis of Melrose.Alsosurvived by 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral from the RobinsonFuneral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE Saturday September 24, 2005. at 8 AM.Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, (corner of Myrtle & Herbert St.) Melrose September 24 at 9 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM. Interment will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose, MA. Arrangements by Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St. Melrose, MA.
