Dr. Laura M. (Lesaffre) Lamore

Dr. Laura M. (LeSaffre) Lamore, a resident of Dracut, and formerly of Melrose, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday, May 24, 2023. Laura was 37.

Born in Melrose on August 19, 1985, Laura graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 2003 where she first discovered her love of music. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music in 2007 and Master’s Degree in Music in 2012, both from Boston University. On July 21, 2012, Laura LeSaffre was married to Ryan Lamore, and they shared a life of laughter, mutual support, and lots of hugs.

Laura devoted her life to teaching and enriching the lives of others through her creative pursuits and strength of spirit. As a high school music teacher at Nashoba Valley Technical School, she worked tirelessly to build the music program from the ground up, consistently pushing her students to expand their knowledge of music and reach their full potential. She worked to create a positive classroom environment, allowing students to thrive in their chosen interests. Laura's commitment to education and the arts was further demonstrated through her work with the Minor Chord program, where she taught private woodwind lessons to younger students.

Most recently, Laura amazed everyone with her latest achievement of earning a Doctorate in Music from BU, while undergoing treatment – a testament to her sheer will, and steadfast dedication to musical education.

Laura's creativity extended beyond the classroom, as she found joy in cooking, baking, quilting, and crafting. She enjoyed watching the Food Network and made the best dinners nightly for Ryan. Laura’s love for the holiday season, particularly Christmas, was evident in the care and enthusiasm with which she decorated her home each year. With her playful and innocent spirit, she found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, such as sipping Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee with Ryan on Saturday mornings, savoring watermelon, hugging her beloved cat, Kitty, and her many, many stuffed animals. She and Ryan also enjoyed traveling around New England to visit interesting destinations, going to the Zoo, or simply playing Words with Friends.

Laura's unwavering commitment to her students, her passion for education and music, and her ability to share joy and inspiration to all who crossed her path will forever be remembered and cherished. Laura will be deeply and sorely missed, but her impact will carry on in the hearts and minds of her family, friends, coworkers, and students. May she rest in peace.

Laura was the beloved wife of Ryan T. Lamore with whom she shared nearly 11 years of marriage. Cherished daughter of John and Nancy LeSaffre of Melrose. Devoted sister of David LeSaffre of Melrose, Thomas LeSaffre and his wife Katrina Majkut of Pound Ridge, NY, and Travis LeSaffre and his wife Abbie of Waltham. Loving aunt of Noah Majkut and Theodore Majkut. Also survived by many loving cousins, coworkers, students, and fellow BU doctorate students. She also leaves her two beloved cats, Gigi and Elbrus.
