Edna L. Penney

Mrs. Edna L. (Rumrill) Penney, a resident of Wolfeforo, NH and formerly of Melrose, MA passed away on Wednesday morning, October 28, 2009 at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, NH after a period of declining health.She was 81 years old.Mrs. Penney was born on December 11, 1927 in Malden, MA one of five children of the late Edwin W. Rumrill and Phyllis M. (Ervin) Rumrill.Edna was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School.For the last 34 years, she had lived in Wolfeboro, NH where she was active with the Wolfeboro Senior Citizens Club.With her club members, Edna helped organize group dinners and social gatherings.Mrs. Penney leaves her two loving daughters and their families, including her dearly beloved 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was the beloved wife of the late Sterling C. Penney.Devoted mother of Donna L. Grant and her husband Jim of Alton Bay, NH, Linda A. Ridings and her husband David of Wolfeboro, NH, and the late Wayne G. Penney and Scott W. Penney. Mother in law of Mary Penney of W. Roxbury.Dear sister of the late Edwin Rumrill, Kenneth Rumrill, Doris Polley and Dick Rumrill.Cherished grandmother of Jimmy Grant, Kimberly Grant, Cassidy Ridings, Matthew Ridings, Kelly Albano and her husband Marc, Tracey Penney, Michael Penney, Kristin Penney, Mark Penney and his wife Casey, Tara Hurtado and Wayne Penney and his wife Stephanie.Loving great-grandmother of Elyssa Penney, Trey Penney, Jackson Hurtado, Tate Hurtado, Cordellia Penney, Alainnah - Kate Penney, Cameron Penney, Madelyn Penney, and Robert Townsend.

Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, on Monday, November 2 at 12 Noon.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.A Memorial Service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 115 S. Main St., WOLFEBORO, NH on Tuesday, Novemeber 3 at 3 PM.
