Mrs. Edythe A. "Edie" Hanley, a longtime resident of Melrose, died suddenly on Tuesday evening November 4, 2008 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.She was 91 years old.
She was born on June 13, 1917 in Blockhouse, Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of the late Allen Eisenhaur and Annabelle (Venoit) Eisenhaur.
Edythe was raised in Cambridge and educated at Cambridge High and Latin School.For many years, Mrs. Hanley worked as a Laboratory Technician for EGG and Raytheon.She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star as well as the Milano Senior Center.Edie loved crafts, knitting, and gardening.
Edie was the beloved wife of the late Claude L. Hanley.Loving mother of Glenn A. Perduyn and his wife Claire of Melrose and Nancy J. McRae and her husband John of Tunbridge, VT.Dear sister of the late Oswald Eisenhaur and George Eisenhaur. Cherished grandmother of Karen, Kimberly, Glenn, Sarah, Wesley and Annah.Cherished great grandmother of Noelle, Lyla and Sydney. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
