Eleanor L. Chase

Mrs. Eleanor L. (Holland) Chase, of Medford, formerly of Wakefield, died Saturday, June 27, 2009 in her home after an illness. She was 87. Eleanor was born on September 23, 1921 in Chelsea, a daughter of the late Albert Charles Holland and Helen (West) Holland.She was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1939. Mrs. Chase worked for a short time as a key puncher at I.B.M then stayed home to raise her family. She enjoyed traveling and dancing, especially square and ballroom dancing. She enjoyed trips to Cape Cod and to the family camp at Terrace Pines' in Center Ossipee, New Hampshire. She and her husband also attended the prayer group at St. Agnes Church in Reading for many years. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, George H. Chase. Loving mother of G. Leonard Chase and his wife, Karin, of Medford, Douglas A. Chase and his wife, Carol, of Malden, Mark M. Chase and his wife, Lori, of Woburn and the late Joel E. Chase; also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; sister of the late Ruth Sullivan, Mildred Bechtel, Albert Holland, Howard Holland and Alice Romano.

Funeral Service at the Hope Christian Church, 58 Mt. Vernon St., Winchester, on Wednesday, July 8 at 5:30 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
