Eleanor J. Olson
of Melrose died at Mount Auburn Hospital inCambridge on Monday afternoon October 18, 2004 after a brief illness.
Eleanor was born and raised in Malden and was a resident of Melrose for the past 58 years.In 1936, at the age of 18, she was named "Miss Malden and Miss Greater Malden".Eleanor was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and spent her life dedicating herself to her wonderful family.Eleanor was a clerk at the former Joslin Department Store in Malden and also worked at Transitron in Melrose. Eleanor was the loving wife for 65 years toEmil A. Olson and the devoted mother of Sheila A. LeColst and her husbandNeil of Largo, FL, Jon W. Olson and his wife Diane of Winthrop, Marie E. Nassr of Arlington, Emilie J. Gledhill of Owls Head, ME and her late husbandRobert E. Gledhill and Gayle L. Rose andher husband Bill of Melrose.Eleanor was the cherished grandmother of 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Funeral from the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE Friday October 22 at 9 AM.Funeral Mass in the Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St., Melrose at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM.Interment will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose, MA. Arrangements by Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St. Melrose, MA.
