Eleanora M. (Cecconi) Luongo, a resident of Malden, passed away peacefully at CHA Everett Hospital on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at age 91.
Eleanora was born in Boston on May 1, 1932, one of three children of the late Eveline (Sabatini) and Giacinto Cecconi. She was raised in the West End, and Lawrence before graduating from Everett High School. For 27 years, Eleanora worked as a secretary at MIT in Cambridge.
Eleanora was a selfless, caring, and kind person who always put others first. She was a devoted mother, and cherished her family. She always wanted the best for people, and did her best to take care of everyone. A caretaker by nature, she genuinely wanted to help, and never hesitated when called upon. Eleanora was simply a good person and was a magnet for other good people. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, taking ceramics classes, and later in life, joined several dancing clubs in the local area that she loved.
Eleanora had simple needs, but always gave herself to those around her. She had unconditional love for others, and supported everyone with love, kindness, and respect. May she rest in eternal and loving peace.
Eleanora is survived by her beloved son, Gary Demasi of NH and daughter, Laura Govoni of CT. She is also survived by several grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Eleanora is predeceased by her mother and father; sister, Esther Steele; and brother, Gregory Cecconi.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather for her Funeral Mass celebrated at Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main St., Malden on Monday, February 26 at 10:30am
