Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Dickinson)Aldrich, 82 of Reading, formerly a resident of Melrose, died at the Woodbriar Nursing Home in Wilmington Sunday morning September 28, 2003. Betty was born in Melrose July 16, 1921, daughter of the late Richard Dickinson and Forestine (Hinds) Dickinson. Betty was a municipal bond trader and assistant Vice President with Kidder and Peabody, Boston and retired after 36 years.She was a secretary and swimming instructor at the Melrose YMCA for 10 years.Betty graduated from Melrose High School and loved traveling and reading.
"Betty" was the wife of the late Dwight H. Aldrich.Stepmother of B. Janet Garniss and her husband Lyman of Melrose and Susan G. Fransen and her husband Neil of Harrison, ME.Sister of the late Richard DickinsonJr. andEarl K. Dickinson.Also survived by 2 cousins, 7 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren.
Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE Wednesday October 1 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Interment will be in Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
