Mrs. Emma M. (Colburn) Tabb of Melrose, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Winchester Hospital in Winchester following a period of declining health.She was 96 years old.
Emma was born on April 22, 1912, one of three daughters to the late Earl Colburn and Eva (McLellan) Colburn.
Mrs. Tabb was raised in Pugwash, New Scotia, Canada and came to the United States when she was 17 years old.Emma was a printer for 30 years at Converse Rubber in Malden and retired in 1977.She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Melrose.She loved to bowl and was an active member of the Malden Senior Citizen Bowling League. She was a member of Boston Santa and a former resident of Malden and Everett.
Emma was the loving mother of Phyllis E. Hill and her husband Robert of Newburyport, Robert A. Tabb and his wife Angela of Margate, FL, Donna C. Zenga and her husband Eddie of Melrose, Junie Moher and her late husband William of New London, CT, and Ruth M. Perrin and her husband Bill of Tewksbury. Dear sister of the late Harriet Taramino and Sadie Worth. Dear aunt of Ernest McLellan and his wife Ruth of Lynnfield and Marion Hunter and her husband Joseph of Rye, NY. Cherished grandmother of the late Holly Perrin and Wendy Moher.Also lovingly survived by 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service celebrating Emma's life will be held in the First United Methodist Church, 645 Main St., Melrose, Friday, April 17 at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE on Thursday 4 - 8 PM.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
