Mrs. Enid L. (Goreham) Wolf, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully in Westford on February 10, 2014, at age 94.
Enid was born on October 11, 1919 in Wood's Harbor, Nova Scotia, one of two children of the late Arthur and Grace (Dixon) Goreham.She was raised and educated in Wood's Harbor, and came to Boston at age 19. She graduated from Burdett Secretarial School and Katherine Gibbs College in Boston.While living in Boston, Enid met her future husband on a blind date, and they settled in Melrose to raise a son, Roger, and daughter, Valerie.
Mrs. Wolf worked as a secretary and bookkeeper in various offices in the Melrose area.She was an active member of the Green Street Baptist Church since 1952 where she was a Sunday School Teacher. Her most significant passion in life was travelling.She and Elmer travelled around the world, including to some exotic locales and interesting adventures.Her other interests included a love for animals and gardening.Above all else, Enid was devoted family woman whose first priority was always caring for her family.
Enid was the beloved wife of the late Elmer N. Wolf with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Roger E. Wolf and his wife Linda of Singapore, and Valerie L. Wolf of Westford.Cherished grandmother of Joshua R. Wolf, and Sophia L. Wolf, both of Singapore.Loving sister of the late George F. Goreham.
To honor Enid's final wishes, there will be no services.Private burial at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
