Eugene J. Gene Bailot

Eugene J. "Gene" Bailot, 58, of Ipswich formerly of Melrose, a retired Manager for Tuckers Auto Parts in Melrose and Wakefield died Sunday March 21, 2004 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston after a lengthy illness.
Gene was born in Melrose Dec. 21, 1945, son of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Martin) Bailot. He graduated from St. Mary's Grammar School, Melrose and Don Bosco High School, 1964 and he also attended Northeastern University.
Gene was a manager for 35 years with Tuckers Auto Parts before retiring due to ill health. Gene was a long-time member of the Yankee Draft Horse Association and the former owner of Keoka Beach Camping Area in South Waterford, Maine for 11 years. He also enjoyed being outside with the families horses and building things with his grandchildren. He often spent his Sundays at Todd Farm Flea Market.
Gene was the husband of 34 years to Dianne L. (Copeland) Bailot.Father of Kimberly B. Cranston and Samantha J. Bailot both of Ipswich.Brother of Mary Norton of Melrose, Edward Bailot of FL and the late Joseph Bailot.Son in law of William H. Copeland and Myrle C. (Pankopf) Copeland of Melrose. Grandfather of Connor, Kelsey and Kyleigh Cranston. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
