Mrs. Eva (Noseworthy) Collibee, of Melrose, formerly of Chelsea and Everett, passed away on her 96th birthday, December 14, 2009 at Wingate Healthcare of Andover after a period of declining health.
Mrs. Collibee was born on December 14, 1913 in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland, daughter of the late Richard Noseworthy and Laura (Rose) Noseworthy. Eva lived in Chelsea, Everett and for many years resided in Melrose at the McCarthy Building.She enjoyed traveling home to her birthplace, the town of Pouch Cove, Newfoundland.While living in Melrose, Eva played Bingo at the Norman Prince VFW Post, #1506 and enjoyed crocheting.Above all else, Eva loved her dear family.She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard J. Collibee.Devoted mother of William R. Collibee and Leonard A. Collibee both of Malden and the late Lorraine D. Reynolds.Dear sister of Queen Hayden of Saugus and the late Edna Hampton, Mildred French and Marion Noseworthy, Gertrude, Violet, Roy, Randall, Archibald and Leamon Noseworthy.She was the cherished grandmother of John Reynolds, Jim Reynolds, Stephen Reynolds, Rick Collibee, Michael Collibee, Jimmy Collibee, Jill Roberto, Deborah Hambly and the late Joseph Collibee.Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandson.
Funeral from the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, Thursday, December 17 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Service in honor and remembrance of Eva's life at the First Congregational Church, 300 Central St., SAUGUS, at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM.Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
