In her childhood, Evelyn often returned to her family's roots in Nova Scotia for family vacations. Her many summer trips to visit her grandparents in Nova Scotia always held a special place in her heart, and she continued to return to Nova Scotia as an adult.
Evelyn was an understated, loyal, and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Evelyn devoted herself to raising her family and provided a welcoming and quietly supportive presence for generations of family. She loved hosting family holidays and events into her 80's, and loved to bake especially sweets. For several years, she worked in the cafeteria at Melrose High School.
In her free time, Evelyn enjoyed braiding rugs, cooking, reading, and doing word puzzles. With husband Bob, she enjoyed regular bus trips around New England, being near the ocean, and visiting old lighthouses along the coast.
Quiet and reserved, but full of love and warmth for her family, Evelyn was always willing to help. She had a deep faith as a Christian, and always maintained an open heart. She will be greatly missed, but her warm, positive nature will live on through generations of her family.
