She was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1926.She graduated from Bryant & Stratton in Boston in 1928.Evelyn was a secretary at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Melrose Savings Bank and for the Boston law firm of Abbot, Carr, Turner & Smith.She was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church, Melrose, a member of the D.A.R, and former president and member of the Melrose Women's Club and also a member of the Melrose Community Associates.
Evelyn was the former wife of the late Dwight W. Lewis.Mother of Martha C. Moore and her husband Ralph L. Moore, Sr. of Melrose, Virginia M. Lewis and her husband Rajendra K. Seth of Saugus and Nancy R. Vose and her husband Donald F. Vose of Boxford. Sister of Mary C. Stuart of Oakland, CA, Rev. Richard H. Lewis of Sacramento, CA and the late Pauline Strout.Grandmother of Ralph L. Moore, Jr. and his wife Gail of Billerica and Lindsay R. Vose of Boxford.Greatgrandmother of Tyler J. and Kyle R. Moore both of Billerica.
Memorial Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose Thursday December 18 at 3:00 PM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Gifts in her memory may be made to First Congregational Church, 121 West Foster St., Melrose, MA02176.
